Duration
All balloon flights include approximately 45–60 minutes air-time. The full experience lasts around 3–3.5 hours, including set-up, packing away, and your return journey to the meeting point.
Parking
Parking is available at all launch sites, and is mostly free. Full details will be included in your pre-flight confirmation message.
Cancellation
If weather prevents flying, we’ll let you know by SMS and/or email. Your message will include a simple link allowing you to instantly rebook onto another available date. Rebooking is always free, and if your voucher has been attempted on 4 separate flights, we’ll automatically extend its validity.
Weather
All flights are weather dependent for your safety and enjoyment. You’ll receive an update the day before (around 16:00) with your exact meeting time, location, and final flight details.

We’re based in the South West and have a wide range of launch sites across Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Devon.
You’re welcome to launch from any of our established sites, or arrange a bespoke launch from your own property, hotel or another suitable location, subject to the landowner’s permission.
All custom launch locations will be assessed by our team, so please contact us in advance.

Once booked for a selected flying slot, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your payment details and important notes.
Day Before
Around 16:00 the day before your flight, you’ll get a text confirming your arrival time and location (weather dependent).
Balloon Flight
Experience an unforgettable 45-minute to 1-hour of flying. This 3-4 hour activity includes setup, the flight, packing up, and the return trip.
After Landing
Enjoy a complimentary tipple after your flight, a perfect time to reflect on your adventure.
Return Trip
We’ll bring you back to the meeting location about 3-3.5 hours after your arrival.

What is a private hot air balloon ride?
A private hot air balloon ride offers an exclusive and unforgettable experience, allowing you to enjoy the magic of ballooning with your chosen guests in your own private basket.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, planning a romantic experience for two or simply looking for something truly memorable, a private flight lets you share the experience in a more personal and intimate setting. Your pilot and crew look after the flight.
How many people can fly on a private hot air balloon ride?
Our private hot air balloon flights can accommodate up to 8 passengers per balloon.
You can choose any number of passengers up to our maximum of 8 for your exclusive flight.
Planning something bigger? We can arrange multiple balloons launching together, making it ideal for larger groups.
Where can we fly?
We offer private hot air balloon flights across Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Devon, with a range of launch sites to choose from. We also offer a separate private charter option for the world-famous Bristol International Balloon Fiesta.
Looking for something a little more personal? We can discuss a bespoke launch from a location of your choice, whether that’s a country estate, hotel grounds, a friendly farmer’s field or a local cricket pitch.
All custom launch locations are subject to landowner permission, site suitability and approval by our team.
Can I book a private balloon flight and add extra passengers later?
Yes! You can add extra passengers to your private balloon flight at a later date, up to a maximum of 8 passengers in one balloon. If you’ve already booked a specific flight date, adding passengers could be subject to balloon availability.
Weather & Cancellations
How do I know if my flight is going ahead?
All balloon flights are highly weather dependent.
We aim to contact you by 16:00 the day before your flight to confirm whether it will proceed, as well as the meeting time and location. Please note that this may sometimes be as late as 22:00 the night before a morning flight or as late as 16:00 on the day of an evening flight. We aim to contact everyone with as much notice as operational procedures allow.
*If you are traveling long distances or booking hotels specifically for ballooning, we strongly recommend contacting us two days prior to your departure and choosing accommodations with a flexible cancellation policy.
What happens if my flight is cancelled?
If your flight is cancelled, we’ll notify you by SMS and/or email as soon as possible.
Your message will include a link to your customer portal, where you can quickly view alternative dates and rebook your experience. You can also reschedule by contacting us via WhatsApp, email, or phone if you prefer.
We also offer a weather refundable option on selected vouchers at the time of booking. If chosen, this allows you to receive a full refund of your flight value (excluding the cost of the refundable option) in the event we are unable to operate your flight. Without this option, your booking is non-refundable but remains fully re-bookable onto any available date within the validity period.
Why would a flight be cancelled?
We really regret having to cancel and rearrange flights as we know the disappointment that comes with it for our guests. However, your safety is our top priority and our duty of care is to operate in a safe manner. As a commercial balloon operator we do not fly in marginal or unsafe weather conditions.
Hot air ballooning is weather dependent so your flight can be cancelled if the weather does not make it safe to fly you. Additionally, flights may be dependent on mechanical performance or staffing availability.
Booking & Terms
How long is my voucher valid?
Private Flight vouchers are valid for 18 months.
Our validity periods are more generous than all our competitors.
Four flight attempts cancelled by us within your original validity qualify for a free 12-month extension. During each subsequent 12-month extension, four further flight attempts cancelled by us qualify for another free 12-month extension.
Is my voucher refundable?
We offer a refundable option for some flights. This option must be selected at the time of checkout and entitles you to a full refund for the value of your flight, excluding the cost of the refundable option itself, in the event of weather cancellations only. Without this option, your voucher is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Absolutely no refunds will be issued more than six months after the original purchase date, regardless of flight attempts made.
How long in advance do I need to book my flight?
Our flights are subject to availability which is live on our website. To secure your preferred date we recommend booking as early as possible.
Can I make changes to my booked flight?
• Up to 5 days before your flight: You may change or postpone your flight at no charge.
• Within 5 days of your flight: A £25 per person fee applies for any changes or cancellations.
• Within 48 hours of your flight date: No changes or cancellations can be made.
Passenger Requirements
Is there an age limit?
Whilst there is no maximum age limit for ballooning, a child under the age of 7 years is not able to fly with us due to safety regulations.
Can I fly if I’m pregnant ?
Unfortunately, for safety reasons, we cannot fly you at any stage of pregnancy.
Am I fit to fly?
Generally, anyone can partake in ballooning. You need to be able to climb in and out the basket, stand unassisted for about an hour, and be able to bend your knees briefly to absorb the impact. Passengers must be able to fully understand and follow all instructions provided by the pilot. Non-English speakers are welcome, but please let us know in advance so we can ensure clear communication.
Our balloon basket features a door for easy entry and exit, though its use may sometimes be restricted due to conditions. We will always do our best to make it accessible for those who need it. During the flight, you’ll be standing in the basket, which provides good support with both a front and back to lean on. While most landings are soft, bumpy landings do occur. If you are concerned, we recommend you consult your doctor.
You must not fly if you are suffering from any significant medical condition or if you have recently undergone major surgery.
