Safety & Operational Requirments 

Fly Away Ballooning Ltd is a registered aviation business under the control of the United Kingdom Aviation regulatory body: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). We have approval to operate commercial balloon flights throughout the United Kingdom.

We are required by the CAA to have the same safety risk management procedures as any small airline operating in the United Kingdom. This covers pilot licencing, operational procedures and aircraft maintenance. We are subjected to regular CAA audits and are governed by Civil Aviation Regulations.

All our pilots hold their Commercial Pilot Licence (Balloons) issued by the CAA. Commercial balloon pilot’s training is equivalent to that of a fixed wing commercial pilot.
